Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
Common Book 2007-08

Century students can buy Persepolis at the College bookstore for only $5

The Century Common Book Project is one of several initiatives on campus designed to engage students in the intellectual and social life of the Century College community.  This year, the entire campus will have the opportunity to read and discuss Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novel Persepolis, which tells the story of a young girl growing up in Iran at the time of the Iranian revolution.  Events have been planned throughout the year to initiate discussion about topics raised in the book.  A fall kick-off luncheon in the cafeterias on both east and west campus will begin our year-long campuswide conversation on September 11, 2007.  Events will culminate in a talk by Marjane Satrapi on April 10, 2008, in the Century College Theatre.

This website is an introduction to Persepolis and contains helpful links and information for students, staff, faculty, and community members.  Please explore and enjoy.  I look forward to a year of engaging questions and conversations across campus.
